Strength training shouldn't be intimidating.
It should be empowering.
I’m Courtney Glancy, and I help people who feel out of place in big-box gyms find their strength through effective, sustainable, and inclusive coaching.
Courtney helped me safely get back to lifting heavy after an injury kept me away from the gym for years. I appreciate her passion for the science of training, her let’s crush-this-energy, and her endless collection of punny workout shirts. She makes sure I balance consistent progress in my compound lifts with fun and functional accessory work. Courtney recognizes that every body is unique and every body can get strong.

A Safe Space to Grow
I focus on working with women, queer and non-binary folks, and older adults, although everyone is welcome in my practice. The training environments I’ve chosen are intentionally small, supportive, and free from the "gym trauma" many of us have experienced.
Inclusive & Affirming: I meet you and accept you where and as you are.
Injury-Informed: As a Barbell Rehab Method certified trainer, I know how to train around pain and prevent future injuries.
Flexible Locations: We can train in one of two gym spaces in Belvedere Square or Mt. Vernon, or I can come to your home, apartment, or condo gym.
Virtual Training: Prefer to work out on your own? I offer online coaching and programming no matter where you’re located.
Get Strong for Life
My goal isn’t to make you a bodybuilder—it’s to make you strong for life. I focus on functional longevity, building discipline and consistency, and appreciating what your body can do, not what you see in the mirror.
I don’t just see a body in the gym; I see a person with a busy life and a unique history. Your program will be inclusive, appropriately challenging, and tailored just for you.
Whether you’re aiming for body neutrality or body positivity, your goals and your abilities provide the roadmap. You don’t need to be perfect; you just need to show up and do the work. I’ll be with you the whole way.
My Story
The Spark
A back injury in my 30s left me frustrated with standard recovery. But it wasn't until I committed to climbing Kilimanjaro in 2022 that I discovered a passion for strength training. Reaching that summit changed my life, proving that strength isn’t just about the weight on the bar; it’s about functional longevity, resilience, and discipline.
The Pivot
In my previous career as a designer and creative director, I learned how to coach people through creative challenges by cultivating a deep insight into human nature. Seeking a more fulfilling way to help others, I traded the creative studio for the gym. That same insight helps me guide my clients on their fitness journey with empathy and purpose.
